This year we will be attending the Talent Olympics Dance Tournament, which is held every year in the Pocono Mountains. Some of you have participated in this competition in the past, but for those of you who have not, here are some of the competition details.
There are several categories in both regular and novice competition, which include tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, hiphop, ethnic, novelty, and vocal. The age divisions are 3-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 16+. Duets and trios compete together, groups consist of 4-9 participants, and lines are 10 or more dancers.
Groups and lines compete separately. The time limit for all categories is three minutes or less. All awards will be presented on Sunday morning, December 4th.
Event fees are as follows, per person:
Registration Fee - $25
Each Solo Event - $22
Each Duet/Trio Event - $20
Each Group/Line Event - $17
Registrations must be in by their deadline, which is Friday, October 21st. There will be no refunds. They will accept late entries until Friday, October 28th with an addition $10 fee. A general schedule will be received one week prior to the competition. Each participant is required to fill out an entry form which must be signed by the parent or legal guardian.
The resort we will be performing at has beautiful accommodations if you'd like to stay there, with reduced prices for dancers and their families. There will be a link at the bottom of this page that will take you to the Fernwood Resort. Reservations must be by mail, be accompanied by the required form (in the office), and include a $100 deposit (check or credit card). The registration form must be received by November 1st, all rooms are guaranteed, a two-night minimum stay is required to qualify for the special rates, and no pets are allowed. Deposit is non-refundable unless cancellation is made before November 1, 2005. There is also an economy family menu in the main dining room for all Talent Olympics guests. Please note: All reservations are first come, first serve. Check in is 4:00 PM, check out is 11:00 AM.

$125 - Flex A Villa - 1 private bedroom with queen sized bed, full bathroom, livingroom with pullout double sleeper sofa, full kitchen, and fireplace.
$114 - Flex B Villa - Studio efficiency with queen sized bed, pullout sleeper sofa, kitchenette, jacuzzi tub in bathroom.
$208 - Full Villa - 2 private bedrooms, 2 private baths (1 with jacuzzi tub), living room with fireplace, dining room, full kitchen.
