Yoga Instruction with Melanie Wood

Yoga for Anybody is a gentle class that will combine poses to meet the needs of anyone participating. This class will help you stretch, strengthen and tighten your body while implementing breath and stress reduction methods into a practice that balances YOUR body, mind and spirit. Any fitness level welcome.

Classes begin Friday, September 10 at 10 am and will continue for 6 weeks, including September 17, 24, October 1, 8 and 15.

Class Information

Please come to the class well hydrated and feel free to drink water throughout the class. Bring a yoga mat and any props such as a yoga block, an exercise band or strap, towels, a blanket, and a small pillow or meditation cushion. Nothing is required except the mat, but having the props promotes a safe practice and may make your practice more comfortable.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move around in. The yoga practice is done barefoot.

Please turn cell phones and pagers off during yoga.

About Melanie

Melanie Wood is a Registered Yoga and Teacher as well as a Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner. She started her certification process in 2003 with YogaFit and completed her Iyengar based 200 hour teaching certification through Yandara Institute in 2006. Her 8 month study and Yoga Therapy Practitioner certification was completed in 2010 through Phoenix Rising Center.

Melanie has been sharing her love of yoga, meditation, stress reduction and energy work in many settings and with many types of individuals by working in groups and one-on-one. Melanie has worked with a versitile crowd: from kids and mothers to be, to seniors in care facilities, from corporate leaders, to those in fitness facilities.

Recently, Melanie started to combine her learned modalities into a process she is calling Personal Integration. Personal Integration creates individualized sessions that enable clients to discover first what their needs are, and then ensure awareness or action steps to integrate the discoveries into daily life.

In addition, Melanie is in the process of aquiring her Phd in Holistic Sciences with a focus on Movement Therapies and Lifestyle Changes through Nutrition and Energy Work. She is a mother to a beautiful 5 year old boy, Jorden. Some interests include being outdoors enjoying nature's wonders, collecting books, and spending time with family and friends (with a glass of fine red wine.)
